Ctrl + Insert key and Shift + Insert key for copying and pasting

I apologize it’s not Ubuntu but has a desktop kind in common for Ubuntu-mate, below is on Linux Manjaro using mate terminal.
How can we have Ctrl + Insert key and Shift + Insert key to do copying and pasting from Clipboard respectively on mate terminal, so it must be in state of NumLock is Off in order to correspond to being the Insert key.
Why is it having ie. feeding and echoing numeric value instead, correspondingly to keyboard layout, usually, mostly is number 0
while only if just NumLock is on then it will do such expected job which is outright opposite to other text editing applications behavior
