Dual boot with ubuntu and windows problem

I have asus vivobook x512 laptop which has 256gb ssd and 1 tb hdd.
I want to dual boot my laptop with windows and ubuntu , windows comes pre-insatlled in ssd now i want to to install ubuntu ,
Should i install ubuntu in ssd only or i should install in hdd?,Is there any booting problem if i install ubuntu in hdd ?
And how i dual boot my laptop ?
If i connect booted usb drive to my laptop for installing only ssd is shown not ssd
I need to dual boot with ubuntu for my work.
Please help me
