Elementary OS run script on startup

Spread the love

I am currently using Elementary OS 5.1.6 Hera.
I have a script that I created using
$ chmod +x filename.sh
and I am trying to make it run every time I log into Elementary. The only solution I found was executing a command which would specify the file with its path. Basically I added a custom command in Elementary Startup applications. The problem is that when I log into the system, the script that I added is not being executed. I’ve tried the command in the console and it works perfectly fine. It looks like this
$ ~/Documents/path/filename.sh
And I’ve also tried to add it like this
$ ~/Documents/path/./filename.sh
But none of the above custom commands worked.
Does anyone know how I can make Elementary execute on startup this script file? Thank you
