localhost network oddity..at least to me anyways. Was weondering if anyone knows the meaning

Well my question is simple, so I’ll get straight to it. I noticed that 127.0.0.1 was sending UDP traffic to itself on the same port number that it was sent from. It continued doing that for awhile but when I shut down Wireshark, then started it again potent. Does anyone know what this behavior could potentially mean? BTW I think it was port 48902.
