i just did a fresh install of Manjaro KDE, and i noticed there was no sound. the only device is dummy output, and running aplay -l used to show no soundcards found, but after installing sof-firmware, it shows this. i’ve tried half a dozen different things i found online but nothing worked. i’m on the latest kernel, i’ve updated all the packages, and nothing has worked.

What to do if partprobe fails?

Tue Jun 30 , 2020
Spread the love          partprobe intermittently fails for me when run after updating a USB stick partition table. What am I supposed to do if it fails? Retries do not seem recommended? Reboot? Use partx?
