No audio with chromebook (candy)

Spread the love

I recently installed ubuntu 20.04 from Chrome OS and for some reason it is not able to play any audio, even in headphones.I am using a Chromebook 11 (CANDY). It recognizes the sound cards(?) HDA Intel PCH and chtmax98090 in alsamixer. I have tried a variety of solutions from the internet but no such luck. The most diffrence I got was in setting the output device went from Dummy Output to HDMI/DisplayPort – Built in Audio but even then no audio.
I have tried installing a audio driver, using wine, I used when I switched to Windows OS for a few days but it has not worked. I have switched OS’s as such Chrome > Ubuntu > Chrome > Windows > Chrome > Ubuntu. The only OS I have continuous audio issues with is ubuntu.
Thank you for your time!
