samba’s unusual behaviour on shared directory in home network

Spread the love

In order to get shareable printers between my Windows 8.1 and Ubuntu 20.04 machines, I installed samba in the last one (main). Everything works fine, but the shared folder “Público” has a weird behaviour. Some folders and files inside Público can be read and write through my Windows, some can’t. For instance, my Ubuntu says that the subdirectories Desktop and Downloads are shared without restriction:
But in my Windows machine, the files inside Desktop aren’t listed, in contrast with the Downloads folder.
My file /etc/samba/smb.conf contains:
workgroup = WORKGROUP
server string = %h server (Samba, Ubuntu)
log file = /var/log/samba/log.%m
max log size = 1000
logging = file
panic action = /usr/share/samba/panic-action %d
server role = standalone server
obey pam restrictions = yes
unix password sync = yes
passwd program = /usr/bin/passwd %u
passwd chat = *Entersnews*spassword:* %nn *Retypesnews*spassword:* %nn *passwordsupdatedssuccessfully* .
pam password change = yes
map to guest = bad user
usershare allow guests = yes
comment = All Printers
browseable = no
path = /var/spool/samba
printable = yes
guest ok = no
read only = yes
create mask = 0700
comment = Printer Drivers
path = /var/lib/samba/printers
browseable = yes
read only = yes
guest ok = no
comment = public anonymous access
path = /home/eureka/Público/
read only = no
browsable = yes

What should I do?
